History
As an independent institute, Tehran International Studies and Research Institute managed in less than a year to establish its status and position within the Iranian research and scientific community. Today, it is one of the pioneer institutes in this field. One of the most important innovations introduced by Tehran International Studies and Research Institute is to establish the first nongovernmental council on foreign relations as well as launching the first specialized digital library in Iran.
The nongovernmental council on foreign relations has been established with the goal of being the first venue for graduates, experts and scholars in the fields of international relations and political science and other related areas. Among the early activities defined for the council was undertaking research projects commissioned by Tehran International Studies and Research Institute such as “strategic estimate of target countries,” “analytical – news reports,” “a selection of global developments,” as well as some case studies.
Up to the present time, the Institute has been endeavoring to carry out researches and studies on politics, international relations and security issues with regards to countries or important international topics by taking advantage of resident researchers and scholars as well as through the assistance of non-resident experts. The result of their work is then made available to other experts as well as executive bodies across the country.
